***** The power of YOUR
words

I am listening.
I am listening to the voices of poetry;
chords that variously
strike and hurt and sing to me,
and reach out from the page to the soul.
Directly written… you seem to know
precisely the state of mind
I find
myself in today;
you invite me to play,
savour,
allow the words to linger
on my tongue,
or in my mind,
or in my heart,
or in my head,
penetrating
where nothing but words can go.
My heart sings
one moment,
and the next,
it is lead.
The words flow,
the mind goes
into spasm,
a chasm;
continuity ends....
and more mere words mend;
as with a splash of the ink
my soul surges, like the phoenix
from the flames,
rising again.
To feel. To feel,
simply to feel
makes life real;
and the power of words,
truly absorbed and heard,
is the world’s best aspirin….
Healing. Healing. Healing.
