The Poetry of Linz

*****
I'm not a stranger to panic:
by Linz

I, too, have felt my heart on fire,
stinging with the realization
that this life won't last forever.
The earth is my mother and
I'm so afraid to leave her.
I have wrapped my soul around
her, for she has given me much.
I drew my name in the dirt
with an old stick that I have had
since I was born. this is
my place. This is where
I live.

Oh Earth, please remember me when I'm gone.

The Age of Reason
by Linz

I'm old enough now.
No need to rub rose petals
on the truth anymore.
I smelled the reality of this.

Cluttered with forgotten poems,
carved walls, spirits, and loss,
My lonely home sits, wide-eyed
and waiting for me.
